CHARITY

 

British Corner also does some charity activities. The British Embassy and British Corner co-sponsor children of the soldiers killed or wounded in the 2008 war. We have awarded them with free English courses.

We are very proud that with the support of a British sponsor we could organize free English courses for 100 students from disadvantaged families to prepare them for Entrance Examinations in Universities.

British Corner also supports young, gifted musicians and gives them free English lessons. We are sure that knowledge of English will be very helpful in their future careers, eg. one of our students Mariam Obolashvili, 14, a gifted violinist was awarded a full scholarship to Yehudi Menuhin School of Music, one of the best music schools in the UK. We are very proud of her.
